Concurrent and Retrospective Protocols and Computer-aided Architectural Design

چکیده
This paper presents the results of studying human designers using two forms of protocol analysis and examines the implications of the results on computer-aided architectural design systems. It uses and contrasts two types of protocol analyses: concurrent protocols and retrospective protocols. The preliminary results indicate that CAAD tools to be useful at the early stages of designing need to encompass synthesis, analysis and evaluation and be highly integrated.
